Pep Band

What is the NHS Pep Band?

Norwell High School is proud to have a very active pep band, a co-curricular club that performs at pep rallies and home football game.  As a club, pep band is not mandatory for band students, but it is recommended for all band students as a way to let off some steam, have some fun, make some noise and get to know more of the students in all of the bands.

The NHS Pep Band is open to any interested NHS student, whether they are enrolled in a music class or not.  The attendance policy for Pep Band is significantly different from the standard curricular attendance policy as outlined in the NHS Music Handbook.  In order for the pep band to be successful, it needs as many students present at each game as possible.  However, there are no penalties for missing a game–we simply ask that students try to make it as often as they can.  For the vast majority of students who participate, this isn’t a problem–they look forward to each home game!

Are there any forms to fill out or fees to pay?

As is the case with any NHS club, you must fill out the “Conditions Governing Participation in Co-Curricular Activities” form.  There are, however, no activity fees associated with participating in pep band.
