This certainly sounds like time well spent. You must have enough experience under your belt to have a realistic idea of what can be accomplished in high school music. I'm glad to see you actively looking forward to doing more interesting things!

Very Exciting news, what accomplishment! Thank you for your support Mr. O'Briant. Congratulations to Maggie, Connor and Stephanie. To the other musicians, keep on auditioning! You may not make it every time you try but you certainly won't make it if you do not try.

The best performance I have seen is Phantom of the Opera when I was younger. I think it sticks out for me becuase it was the first time I had been to a theatre or really seen any kind of performance. It was at the Wang Theatre and I was really impressed becuase it seemed so big and I loved that the ceiling was painted. The clouds on the ceiling looked very real. I don't even really remember the whole show but I do remember the music and the way their voices filled the entire theatre and gave me chills. To be comepletely honest I still listen to the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack.

Although I feel that it is a bit insincere to say that my favorite musical performance ever witnessed was a recorded show, the demonstration has never ceased to bring a genuine sense of awe to me. The Arctic Monkeys' first appearance on the British musical showcase show Later...With Jools Holland is in my mind leagues beyond any other musical peformance ever to grace my eyes. Though I've seen countless musical performances live and in person, where the energy and atmosphere of the musicians and crowd mixes to bring one of the most unique feelings of thrill and connection, I had never before seen muisc be able to bring out an passionate focus in me like the Jools Holland performance had. The band had played with an intense feeling of raw, untamed fury that was felt by every breathing creature within 200 feet of the set, and through the television lines I too felt as if I could feel every riff of the guitar pulsate through me and pound into my rib cage. Their performance had a sensation on me I have yet to experience by any other musical performance, and only leaves me in bewilderment as to what the Monkeys are like in person.

The best live performance I have ever seen would have to be when Dave Matthews played at fenway park. He sounds just as good live as he does on the studio tracks. But besides that fact it was even more amazing that he and the band would take off on their own solos and add something new to every song. All the members of the band are so extremely talented and creative. I also love when Dave plays with Tim Reynolds so that made it so much more enjoyable.

The greatest live performance I have ever seen was without question Dave Matthew Band at Fenway Park. Granted, I've seen shows where there have been far fewer people, or been closer, or even spoken to the band afterwards, but as far as pure musical quality, nothing beats a jam band in a crowded area full of potheads. They played some of their greatest songs in a style that isn't often repeated, thats what jamming is, freeverse music. I got the recording of the show I went to just so I could hear them play those songs again, because I my mind, a concert isn't just about whose the showest, suavest, or most explosiv-iest, its about who best plays their pieces in an individual way.

Oops, missed the deadline by 40 minutes. My b Mr. O'Bryant

The best concert i have ever seen was Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live at the Wang Theater. It was all acoustic and a very small venue from what Dave usually does so it gave it a personal feel. It was so memorable because they only do an acoustic tour every five years or so and to be able to go to it was a real treat. Also it was on 4/20 and Dave was telling some wacky stories.

The greatest performance I've ever seen was just last week and it was the Blue Man Group. I went with my family, two other close families, and our french students. It was an absolutely amazing performance! I can't even begin to imagine the skill it would take to be one of the, "Blue Men." It was remarkable how they combined music, art, and comedy all into one really cool show. I also thought how they didn't use words, just expressions, to communicate with the audience made it very original. Overall, the uniqueness of the performance made it very memorable.

The most memorable live performance I have seen would probably have to be Bruce Springsteen's concert this summer at Gillete Stadium. What made it so memorable was that he played so many of my favorite songs. He also took alot of his song selections from the audience's signs. He played some of his old songs from the 80's and his new songs which gave the show such variety. He played with such energy and exitement that you would have thought that he was much younger than 60 years old.

I haven't really seen many live performances, but the closest would be, "Beauty and the Beast," done as a musical. Beauty and the Beast has always been one of my favorite Disney stories, and that made the perfomance that much more entertaining. The woman who played Belle had a really charming and beautiful voice that caught my attention, the costumes of all the dancers were bright and flowing, along with the props on stage, it created a mesmerizing effect. It was a really nice production and that's why I have remembered it for so long.
