Wonderful Clarinet Quartet Video

Since we’re entering the chamber music portion of our year, I thought it might be useful to post examples of chamber ensembles that exhibit both a high level of technical mastery but also (and perhaps more importantly) a keen ability to communicate with each other through gesture and movement.  Take special note, when watching this group, of how they:

  • Clearly communicate entrances, cutoffs, tempos and phrasing through speed of movement and breath
  • Physically show the character and the energy of the piece (Animato-animated!).

Watch the video with the sound muted, and these things become even clearer.  Enjoy!
